JCB is committed to constant innovation: they challenge accepted knowledge and use their understanding to develop more productive, more powerful and more profitable machines.
By fostering and supporting this culture of innovation JCB has developed into one of the world's top three manufacturers of construction equipment. Today the JCB name is synonymous worldwide with world-class quality: all JCB products are specifically designed and built for hard work and reliability.
Established in the UK over 64 years ago, JCB currently employs around 7000 people on four continents and sells its products in 150 countries through 1,500 dealer depot locations.
JCB has some of the finest engineering facilities across the globe with 18 world-class manufacturing facilities in the UK, Brazil, North America, India, China and Germany producing a range of over 300 machines.
In line with JCB's position as a leader in research and development, manufacturing began on the first full-scale production engine, the JCB Dieselmax 444 in 2004. This was the biggest single investment ever made by JCB in the UK. In 2006, a slightly modified version of this engine became the world's fastest diesel on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, USA at a speed of 563.418 kilometres per hour.

Assembly of the Dieselmax 444 engine takes place in a dedicated £80 million facility in Derbyshire called JCB Power Systems. This engine is used in 50% of JCB machines.
